7 Questions To Ask A Prospective Website Designer

Here are 7 great questions to ask your website designer before you commit to do business with them:

1) How long have they been in business? It's easy to set up as a web designer and start trading. A reputation is built up over years so you should ask how long they have been trading.

2) How many employees do they have? A one person company might seem ok from the outside, but can be a disaster when they get busy. Three or more employees would be a minimum to ensure that you get the level of service you deserve from your website designer.

3) What skills do they have? You need them to have skills across graphic design, html coding and search engine optimisation as a minimum.

4) What previous projects have they done? Take a look at their previous work and determine if this fits your needs. Most website designers will have a good portfolio of 5 or more projects.

5) Have they got any testimonials from previous clients? A minimum of 5 would be ok - and more if possible. You should ask for name and telephone number of a couple of them and make a call to them. You should ask about the success the client had with the website designer.

6) What day to day systems does the web designer have in place? You need to know that their systems are going to ensure that your project is completed on time and on budget.

7) What will the project cost? This is a critical questions to ask website designers. You need to determine whether the cost is representative of the result you will be getting. This may mean that the cheapest cost is not actually the best one to go for. It's about value for money.
